Kiwis Cure Batten Project

During August 2015 Taika Waititi asked kids and famous kiwis how they could help the All Blacks win and cure Batten Disease.

Team Ball Player Thing was the answer. The official supporters song for the All Blacks’ Rugby World Cup campaign. With all proceeds generated from the song going to Cure Kids.

At the same time we were asked by Cure Kids to create a digital hub for the #KiwisCureBatten project. This was our answer.

To begin with we created an identity for the project. We drew inspiration from the All Blacks and Cure Kids brands to create a distinctive look and feel for the initiative which we applied to the website, digital placements and print advertisements.

We knew Team Ball Player Thing had to be the hero of the website. But as the primary donation channel, we had to ensure the site converted those feel good vibes generated by the hilarious lyrics and spine tingling moments into donations. The giving process had to be incredibly easy no matter the device being used. We also wanted to showcase the huge volumes of behind-the-scenes content and harness the global chatter happening about the project. With the aim of raising the awareness of Batten Disease, educating visitors and providing them with an avenue to help.

A truly humbling project to be involved with. And one you can be part of as well. Get the song, make a difference and become part of history as we unite to eradicate the world of this terrible disease.
