Caves Kaikoura Identity

20-30 million years ago, an amazing cave system was formed near Kaikoura. Today these can be explored and appreciated thanks to the team at Caves Kaikoura.

The Caves team approached us to inject some personality into their communications – from site signage and information panels right through to packaging for their on-site cafe.

We decided to take an illustrative approach that told the story of caves’ formation in a somewhat light-hearted manner, from the ‘Big Bang’ to today. By developing a set of distinctive characters, we were able to create an adaptable system that allowed layers of messaging to be formed, depending on the application. An engaging outcome that is as unique as the caves themselves.
